IMPAKT vs Sound Alerts: which is better for a streamer?
Sound Alerts lets viewers trigger sound effects on your stream with Bits or channel points. IMPAKT lets viewers play rounds with the streamer, settled by the game, with 25 per cent of the coins spent going to the streamer. Sound Alerts is simpler and funnier. IMPAKT is built for repeat participation.
What does Sound Alerts do?
From the Sound Alerts help center:
- Viewers play sounds from a library the streamer selects, using Bits or channel points.
- It runs as a Twitch extension, and it also works in the Twitch mobile apps.
- Streamers set a price for each sound. Installing it is free.
- Earning from Bits requires Twitch Affiliate or Partner status. Twitch pays the revenue as part of its regular payout.
- Channel points alerts are set up from the Sound Alerts dashboard, with a limit on how many slots you can use.
Because it depends on the Twitch extension system and Twitch Bits, check Sound Alerts for what is available on other platforms.
For quick, funny interaction, Sound Alerts is the better choice. IMPAKT has no sound library.
What does IMPAKT do differently?
A sound is a one-off reaction. An IMPAKT round has a stake and an outcome.
- Votes, predictions with cash out, bets on the round, and bids for actions, each with a countdown drawn into the video.
- Settlement from the game's data, not from the streamer's word.
- Revenue share: 25 per cent of coins spent in the channel, plus 40 per cent of the house share on rounds settled there. Free to start.
- No Bits or Affiliate status needed. IMPAKT does not depend on Twitch monetization, and it works on Kick, where there are no extensions, through an official Kick app, chat bot and live page.
Viewers use IMPAKT coins. 100 coins equal 1 US dollar when bought, with no cash value and no withdrawals. Daily free coins are available.
