Twitch extensions for viewer interaction: polls, predictions and crowdplay
A Twitch extension is a panel or overlay that runs beside a stream. IMPAKT's extension turns that panel into a seat at the game.
What the IMPAKT panel does
- Shows the round the game has opened: a vote, a prediction, a bet, an auction.
- Takes the viewer's action with one tap and a Twitch-issued identity, so a viewer never needs a new account to vote.
- Keeps a coin balance for the session for predictions and bids.
- Sends the tally to the game at the deadline, so the game applies it.
How it differs from channel points
Channel points reward watching with cosmetic perks the streamer fulfils by hand. Crowdplay rounds are opened and settled by the game: the outcome of a prediction is the outcome of the round, not a judgement call.
Privacy
The panel reads three things from the Twitch token: an opaque user id, the channel id and what was pressed. No username, no email, no identity sharing. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
For streamers
Install the extension on your channel, connect a game or run the built-in tables, and your Twitch audience plays along without leaving Twitch. Set up a channel.
